Bob is a retired Police Superintendent formally seconded to the National Police Leadership Faculty, National Police Training Bramshill. (now NPIA). He has 31 years police experience in both operational and headquarters environments. He is a qualified police trainer and evaluator and has an M.Ed in (Training & Evaluation).
He joined National Police Training in May 1999 as part of the directing staff of the Command Team Programme, with specific responsibilities for the Introduction to Command Skills and the Operational Leader.
Also represented National Police Training on the Planning and Implementation Group of the Leadership Project for the Cabinet Office. Before starting his secondment at Bramshill he was responsible for; uniform training, detective training, IT training, training research and evaluation within West Midlands Police.
His interests are in personal and organisational development with particular emphasis on learning from the ‘inside out’. He is an experienced facilitator and has worked both as an Action Inquiry Group facilitator and Development Advisor on the PSLS (Public Service Leaders Scheme), now Leaders UK.
Bob is a Director of Now That’s Different Limited and an associate of the National School of Government. He specialises in personal development with a particular reference to leadership behaviours. He is particularly interested in working with individuals and organisations to enable the development of ethical performance within the working environment.
He is a qualified to use MBTI Step 1 & Step 2, Firo-B, Belbin, ASE’s Emotional Intelligence questionnaire, and TLQ (Transformational Leadership Questionnaire), which he has used to facilitate leadership training.
